Yoga

Hatha Yoga

Perhaps the path of Yoga most will be familiar with, since this is the most popular branch of Yoga in the West. This branch of Yoga uses physical poses (Asana), Breathing Techniques ( Pranayama), and Meditation to achieve better health, as well as spirituality. There are many styles within this path - Iyengar, Integral, Scaravelli, Astanga, Kripalu, and Jivamukti to name but a few.

If what you want is a peaceful mind and a healthy body to go along with it, Hatha Yoga may just be the path for you.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow is a flowing sequence of postures designed for conditioning, toning, and building focus and concentration. There is emphasis on the connection of movement with the breath.

Sun salutations/Vinyasas are practiced between each sequence of postures throughout the entire standing and floor series. This class will transform you on all levels, physically, mentally and spiritually.

This class is also practiced in the heat as a 'Hot Vinyasa Flow'. Be prepared to sweat, tone your entire body and clear your mind.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hot Vinyasa Flow Yoga

This class is the same as the above but is practiced in the heat as a 'Hot Vinyasa Flow'. Be prepared to sweat, tone your entire body and clear your mind.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other schools of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues (the yang tissues). Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.

Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

Pregnancy/Antenatal Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a safe, simple and natural method of preparing for the miracle of childbirth. Combining breathign, and relaxation techniques with stretching, strengthening, and balancing exercises.

Practicing antenatal yoga during pregnancy will:-

Align your body for optimal health during pregnancy, delivery of the baby and postnatally.

Create more space for your baby, breathing, and digestion.

Provide breathing and relaxation techniques to use during pregnancy and labour.

Reduce common discomfort occuring in the upper and lower back.

Further benefits of practicing yoga during pregnancy:
Antenatal Yoga strengthens the pelvic floor and uterus, improves circulation, aids digestion, eases back problems and increases general health and well-being.
It can also alleviate nausea, constipation, water retention and varicose veins.
Linking postures to your breath, will lead you to increased awareness in the mind, body and spirit, allowing you a deeper connection with your growing baby.

Childrens Yoga (2yrs-teens)

Our children are growing up in a very fast-paced world, often coping with the stresses of busy parents and a great deal of competition, both academically and socially. Obesity is on the rise and exercise is on the decline as more and more junk foods are marketed specifically at them.

Yoga teaches children to relax and empowers them with self-awareness, confidence, and focus. It also develops their flexibility and balance, both physically and emotionally.

Childresn yoga is broken down in to the following age groups:-

3-5 yrs
5-7 yrs
8-11 yrs
11-14 yrs
Teenage Girls
